CARLOS
CANO
I’m a front-end web developer and designer, but what makes me shine above others is that I’m a wannabe unicorn!
Let me explain myself. I have a background in graphic design and knowledge of UX design, and I’m pretty good at motion design, photo and video editing, and 3D (who really knows when this knowledge will be helpful, especially when making webpages, right?).
What I really want to say is that my super power is to adapt and there is nothing I can’t learn, even if the environment is hostile, ask my wife.

Billy Beer -
Webpage
2024-08-11
Goal
The goal of this project was to revive the Billy Beer brand, originally made in 1977, by creating a modern, visually appealing webpage. This project was designed to showcase my skills in design and front-end development, utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Additionally, I created 3D models of the beer cans, remade the logo, produced a promotional video, and developed a style guide for the brand.
Process
I began by remaking the Billy Beer logo and creating a detailed style guide to maintain consistency throughout the project. Next, I designed 3D models of the beer cans in three flavors: Light, Amber, and Regular. After completing a promotional video, I focused on the webpage, starting with research and a high-fidelity wireframe. I then styled the webpage according to the style guide, created custom animated icons, and filled in content based on my research. Finally, I applied CSS styling and added interactive features like menu animations, scroll effects, and hover effects using JavaScript.
Outcome
The final product was a well-received webpage that impressed all my tutors. With comments like "overall perfect," I achieved the highest scores across all required subjects. I’m extremely proud of this project, as it successfully revived the Billy Beer brand while demonstrating my skills in design, development, and animation.
Hackathon -

2024-11-27
Goal
The goal of this hackathon project was to design and develop a visually engaging and functional webpage for Fanshawe College’s Industry Night 2025. Working collaboratively with three peers, we aimed to create a platform that highlighted the achievements of graduating students, provided event details, and showcased portfolios and capstone projects in an interactive and professional manner. This project served as a testament to our teamwork, design expertise, and technical skills.
Process
Our team began by brainstorming and planning the structure and design of the webpage, ensuring it aligned with the event’s theme and audience. We divided tasks based on individual strengths, covering aspects like UX design, motion graphics, and development. Key features included video sections tailored for different screen sizes, a detailed event itinerary, and an exhibit gallery for finalist projects. I focused on implementing responsive designs, creating animations using JavaScript, and ensuring the webpage provided a seamless user experience across devices. We also integrated professional branding elements, interactive navigation, and an intuitive layout that guided visitors through the event details, capstone showcases, and student portfolios.
Outcome
The completed webpage successfully captured the essence of Fanshawe’s Industry Night 2025. It featured a responsive, user-friendly design with smooth animations, engaging multimedia content, and clear navigation. The project was well-received, demonstrating our collective ability to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality results under a tight deadline. This hackathon experience not only showcased our technical proficiency but also highlighted our commitment to creating impactful and innovative solutions.
Snaky -
Webpage
2024-11-22
Goal
The goal of this project was to design a cutting-edge promotional campaign for Snaky earbuds, highlighting their supreme sound quality and striking snake-inspired design. This project aimed to elevate the brand’s identity through a modern webpage featuring innovative visuals, including an X-ray vision graphic and a 3D interactive model with hotspots. My objective was to combine creative branding with technical precision, showcasing my expertise in design, development, and user interaction.
Process
I started by developing a visual identity that captured the essence of the snake motif, ensuring it resonated with the brand’s edgy yet sophisticated personality. The first step was creating a 3D model of the earbuds, focusing on both technical accuracy and aesthetic appeal. I incorporated detailed hotspots to emphasize key features, such as sound quality and ergonomic design. Next, I designed an X-ray vision graphic to provide a glimpse into the advanced technology inside the earbuds. For the webpage, I followed a structured workflow: research, wireframe creation, and integration of animations. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I built an interactive user experience with hover effects, smooth transitions, and scroll animations. The final touch was a promotional video designed to captivate and engage the target audience.
Outcome
The result was an immersive and visually striking webpage that effectively captured the spirit of Snaky. The 3D model and interactive elements provided an engaging way for users to explore the earbuds' features, while the X-ray vision graphic offered a unique perspective on the product’s technology. The promotional video and cohesive design elevated the brand’s image, impressing both peers and mentors. This project not only highlighted my creative and technical skills but also demonstrated my ability to blend storytelling with cutting-edge web design.
